meeting so great a love

This morning the sky is grey and the ground is soaked. My balcony is dripping still even though the rain has stopped. Waking up this morning I didn't feel particularly spiritual. It would be so much easier to start Lent with a light glowing around me and inspiration oozing out of every corner. Instead, I feel very ordinary. Today feels very ordinary. So, I came to my tea break with God with very few words to say. I want to know more about him - for him to speak from the mountain or heal the sick (both, preferably). I want to see him everywhere around me like I read about through the whole Bible. Here I am, then, waving this banner ...

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ~ John 3:16

... and seeking this God who loves so much. I want to meet so great a Love, so great a Man, so great a Healer, so great a Saviour.

In the mundane, average moments of today, I invite God to show me who he is and what motivates him to love the world so much.
